CD and DVD coming… soon!

Welcome to the Burning Opera

We’re hard at work on a studio soundtrack CD of all the fabulous music from the show, and a live DVD immortalizing last October’s sold-out run at Teatro Zinzanni in San Francisco.  We’re planning to have both complete in time for the holiday season — stay tuned here for updates!

In the meantime, there all all kinds of tasty goodies from the show for your entertainment.

Here’s a Sizzle Reel which captures some of the energy and joy of these performances.  While the final DVD is in production, Mark has excerpted a few tasty cuts:  check out a bit of Gypsy Dogs, and also Poison Path.   More videos are linked from our site here.

You can see a bunch of beautiful pictures of the show and cast by Michael Rauner here.   He also created a beautiful book of pictures of the show, available for purchase directly through his site.

Keep your eye on the Watch & Listen page — I just posted “Strange Weather”, and more will added as it becomes available!

We’re in love with this show, and we can’t wait to do it again.  We’re in preliminary conversations with venues and producers in New York, LA and Reno, but nothing is tangible:  should we be talking to YOU?  If you’re interested, contact us by going here.

If you missed the show, you can get some sense of what we were up to with these links:   Here’s one review by Laura Casey of the Oakland Tribune, one on LaughingSquid from Mikl-Em, some nice Yelp feedback, and another from Jamie Freedman of the SF Examiner.  In addition to Michael Rauner’s  beautiful pictures of the dress rehearsal, the show 1/6, and some cast members,  John Curley came to a rehearsal in Oakland and published a beautiful blog — HIGHLY worth reading and checking out his pictures! And for you non-Burners, here’s a fun blog post by a newbie who came and enjoyed the show.   And our local NPR station did a really nice little piece, which is great because it has music clips as well as the explanations!

It was inspirational to be part of such an exciting and well-received project, and we’ve loved all the fantastic community feedback!  Enjoy these tasty goodies, and we hope to perform for you soon!
