ZinZanni shows are over — what’s next for the Burning Opera?

March 6th, 2010 § 0

Welcome to the Burning Opera

We had a WONDERFUL time doing the show for nine sold-out audiences in the beautiful Teatro ZinZanni space on the San Francisco waterfront in October 2009.  Here’s a Sizzle Reel which captures some of the energy and joy of these performances.  You can see a bunch of beautiful pictures of the show and cast by Michael Rauner here.   He also created a beautiful book of pictures of the show, available for purchase directly through his site.  It was inspirational to be part of such an exciting and well-received project, and we can’t wait to do it again!

We’re still working on a DVD of the show and a soundtrack recording– all to share.   We’ll let you know as soon as we have tangible information; it takes a long time to get this stuff right.  Keep checking the Watch & Listen page — I just posted “Strange Weather”, and more will added as it becomes available!

And, of course we’d love to bring the show to live audiences in YOUR town!  We’re in preliminary conversations with venues and producers in New York, LA and Reno — should we be talking to YOU?  If you’re interested, contact us by going here.

If you missed the show, you can get some sense of what we were up to with these links:   Here’s one review by Laura Casey of the Oakland Tribune, one on LaughingSquid from Mikl-Em, some nice Yelp feedback, and another from Jamie Freedman of the SF Examiner.  In addition to Michael Rauner’s  beautiful pictures of the dress rehearsal, the show 1/6, and some cast members,  John Curley came to a rehearsal in Oakland and published a beautiful blog — HIGHLY worth reading and checking out his pictures! And for you non-Burners, here’s a fun blog post by a newbie who came and enjoyed the show.   And our local NPR station did a really nice little piece, which is great because it has music clips as well as the explanations!

We hope to see you soon!
