CDs are finally complete and look and sound fantastic! They’re now for sale on CDBaby right HERE. We recommend ordering the physical copy vs. just downloading MP3s – the CD includes a beautiful insert with original artwork and the lyrics to all the songs.

Composer Mark Nichols and the Ghostlight Gypsies team have a live concert/shadowplay version of “How to Survive the Apocalypse” reopening in 2012 in LA. Check out more info at their website. Creator Christopher Fülling is working on a Vegas proposal, with a very exciting participatory YouTube tie-in — watch this site for details and links.
In the meantime, we have all kinds of tasty goodies from the show for your entertainment:

NEW: Original cast member, filmmaker and musician extraordinaire Dean Mermell created a behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the original San Francisco production. We hope you enjoy it!

Here’s a Sizzle Reel which captures some of the energy and joy of these performances. Mark has excerpted a few tasty cuts from our DVD on YouTube: check out a bit of Gypsy Dogs, and also Poison Path. More videos are linked from our site here.

You can see a bunch of beautiful pictures of the show and cast by Michael Rauner here. He also created a beautiful book of pictures of the show, available for purchase directly through his site.

Keep your eye on the Watch & Listen page.

If you missed the SF show, you can get some sense of what we were up to with these links: Here’s one review by Laura Casey of the Oakland Tribune, one on LaughingSquid from Mikl-Em, some nice Yelp feedback, and another from Jamie Freedman of the SF Examiner. In addition to Michael Rauner’s beautiful pictures of the dress rehearsal, the show 1/6, and some cast members, John Curley came to a rehearsal in Oakland and published a beautiful blog — HIGHLY worth reading and checking out his pictures! And for you non-Burners, here’s a fun blog post by a newbie who came and enjoyed the show. And our local NPR station did a really nice little piece, which is great because it has music clips as well as the explanations!

Looking forward to bringing you some more magic soon! And of course we’d love to hear from producers who want to bring the Burning Opera to YOUR town!
